Patsy Weekley's diary: Getting geared up for action at Harbour Town

Patsy Weekley, the mother of two-time defending Verizon Heritage champion Boo Weekley, will be following her son around Harbour Town Golf Links this week. She is sharing her experience with The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette with a daily Heritage diary. Thanks to one of Boo's sponsors, Mark Segall from Firethorn, I was able to get out on the golf course and beat a few balls Tuesday. I think Mark felt sorry for me, because I told him I hadn't been able to play in a while and I didn't want to embarrass myself in the pro-am today. So he took me out to play some golf at Sea Pines Country Club, which was really nice. It's a tight course, but that's the way it is at Tanglewood Country Club, the course we live on in Milton, Fla., so I'm used to it.I realized last night I can see the Harbour Town lighthouse all lit up from my bedroom at the house we're staying in here in Sea Pines. The lighthouse looked so beautiful at night, and it got me to thinking about the golf course and the tournament and all the hard work that goes into putting on such a great tournament. This tournament has given back so much to the community.I did get over to Harbour Town for lunch and to do a little bit of shopping, and I walked in and saw they had Boo's new clothing line in there, so I had to look at that and got a few things to wear later in the week. I think I'll wear Harbour Town clothing for the pro-am, like I did last year, but now I have some Boo gear to wear around here Thursday and Friday. I'm looking forward to the pro-am, and I hope getting out and playing some golf Tuesday will help me play better.
