Patsy Weekley, the mother of two-time defending Verizon Heritage champion Boo Weekley, will be following her son around Harbour Town Golf Links this week. She is sharing her experience with The Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette with a daily Heritage diary. It was a lot of fun to play in the pro-am. Any time I get to play in these kind of things, with this caliber of golfers, you think it should be making you play better, but somehow I got into my own little world and I didn't play that great. But I cannot say enough how thankful I am for the Verizon Heritage staff letting me play, because it was unreal to be able to share that experience with Boo. I would love to do it again next year, so I'm trying to tell them maybe if I just leave some of my clothes down here in Hilton Head for a year, that means I'll have to come back.My husband, Tom, had to leave after the opening ceremonies Monday so he could go back to work, so I guess I should thank him for letting me stay. We had a lot of fun today. I had people come up and tell me they watched me last year, too, and I had a few people ask me for my autograph. I always tell them, "I think it's actually Boo's autograph you want," but they usually say they already have his and they want mine next to it. It's always strange to sign autographs -- probably the only thing I've put my signature on since I was here last year was the tax return that we had to send in the other day.I'm looking forward to seeing Boo play tomorrow. His back's been bothering him, so I hope he doesn't put too much pressure on himself. But, hey, it's been a wild ride for him, and what happens happens.I would love to see him go three this year, four next year, five ... I can count to 10. A win's a win, but I think winning somewhere like here is even more special, because the people here don't forget you. They sure haven't forgotten Boo.
