We know you're in a rush to get to the opening ceremonies today, but watch your speed on the road. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office typically sets up loads of speed traps during Heritage week, especially on the Cross Island Parkway. Don't say we didn't warn you.

Spectator tip

You don't need a ticket -- or a tartan kilt -- to get into today's opening ceremonies. Come down to Harbour Town and enjoy a free glass of champagne as the tournament gets under way. Caution: Not recommended for those with a fear of cannons.

Parking

Unless you work for Verizon or are married to a player, you'll probably have to take the shuttle to Harbour Town. Look for signs for tournament shuttle parking as soon as you get into Sea Pines. Your day will be even better if you remember your lot number.
